OWN Posts Double-Digit Ratings Gains for Third Quarter 2012
Oprah Winfrey Network has posted double-digit ratings gains for third quarter 2012 across all key demos in both primetime (+63% W25-54, +57% total viewers) and total day (+70% W25-54, +73% total viewers).
This marks OWN's third consecutive quarter of year over year ratings growth and the network's 37th consecutive week of total day growth in the network's core demo of women 25-54 (+70%) versus one year ago. In addition, for the month September, the network posted triple digit gains in the key women 25-54 demo in primetime and total day versus year ago (+107% W25-54 in primetime, +100% W25-54 in total day).
Year-to-date, OWN is posting double-digit ratings growth in both primetime and total day across the network's key demos, with primetime posting +26% W25-54 and +23% in total viewers, and total day posting +36% W25-54 and +40% total viewers versus year ago numbers.
Key 3Q 2012 highlights include:
· "Oprah's Next Chapter" (Sundays at 9 p.m.) - The series scored solid numbers with episodes featuring Rihanna, Usher, Kelsey Grammer and Olympian Gabrielle Douglas each scoring over a 1.0 W25-54 rating.
· "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" (Saturdays at 9 p.m.) - The season two premiere on Sept. 15 hit an all-time series high with a .88 W25-54 rating and 932,000 total viewers posting triple digit growth versus year ago numbers (+450% W25-54, +521% total viewers).
· "Iyanla: Fix My Life" (Saturdays at 10 p.m.) - The series premiere on Sept. 15 scored a 1.18 W25-54 rating and 1,136,000 million viewers ranking #2 in its time period in W25-54 among all ad-supported cable networks.
· "Our America with Lisa Ling" - The series' summer season (June 10-August 21) posted triple-digit ratings gains versus year ago numbers (+127% W25-54 and +117% in total viewers).
