Noticias Telemundo announced details of "La Gran Batalla," its special coverage of the eagerly-awaited first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, live on Telemundo, Telemundo.com, the Noticias Telemundo mobile app, and the Noticias Telemundo Facebook and Youtube pages on Monday, September 26 starting at 8PM ET/7 CT/5 PT. The debate coverage is part of Noticias Telemundo's election news platform, #DECISION2016.

With more than 15 correspondents and analysts around the country, led by Noticias Telemundo anchors José Díaz-Balart and María Celeste Arrarás, the Hispanic network will offer complete debate coverage, including pre-debate analysis, a breakdown of public expectations and special reports, followed by simultaneous Spanish translation of the debate live from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, starting at 9 PM ET/8 CT/6 PT. The coverage will conclude with a special program featuring post-debate analysis and potential repercussions for the candidates' respective campaigns and the Latino vote.

"La Gran Batalla" will feature the latest audience interactive platform Microsoft Pulse, an innovative tool that allows viewers to express and share their opinions about the candidates' statements on Telemundo screens via their mobile devices. Microsoft Pulse makes it possible to determine the level of acceptance of the candidates' messages and audience reaction to the debate in general.

With less than 50 days to go to the elections and with polls showing a close finish between the two candidates, this first debate, moderated by NBC News anchor Lester Holt, could be critical in determining the end result of the presidential race. Given the stakes, US Hispanic voters are poised to play a double role in these elections: as a campaign issue, especially with regard to the importance of immigration policy to both candidates' platforms, and as a key electoral bloc that could decide the vote in swing states like Florida, Nevada and Colorado, ultimately determining who will become the next president of the United States.

#DECISION2016 is a news platform designed to inform and empower Hispanic voters in the United States. In close collaboration with NBC News, the country's number one news organization, Noticias Telemundo will produce more than 275 hours of political coverage throughout the campaign, an unprecedented figure in the network's history. #DECISION 2016 will also deploy a solid digital platform to reach young voters and offer a series of initiatives in partnership with Columbia University School of Journalism. Emmy Award-winning Noticiero Telemundo anchors María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart will lead the #DECISION2016 coverage, in collaboration with more than 15 correspondents charged with following the presidential race across the country. Telemundo is the only Spanish-language network in the United States to present an official Republican debate as well as forums with the leading Democratic candidates in the 2016 electoral cycle.
