ABC's NIGHTLINE Delivers Largest Total Viewer Lead in 3 Months

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.466 million Total Viewers, 516,000 Adults 25-54 and 405,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of February 27, 2017, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.294 million, 496,000 and 383,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+172,000), Adults 25-54 (+20,000) and Adults 18-49 (+22,000), scoring its largest Total Viewer lead over the CBS program in 3 months - since w/o 11/21/16, based on original telecasts.

"Nightline" saw week to week gains (1.357 million and 396,000, respectively, for w/o 2/20/17) in Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 18-49 (+2%), drawing its largest overall audience in 8 weeks - since 1/2/17.

For the 2nd week in a row, "Nightline" narrowed its margins with NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" from the year-ago week across the board: Total Viewers (-50% - 93,000 vs. 186,000), Adults 25-54 (-15% - 161,000 vs. 190,000) and Adults 18-49 (-27% - 127,000 vs. 173,000).

"Nightline" had the No. 1 telecast during the week in Total Viewers (1.757 million) with its Monday airing (2/27/17), outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+144,000 - 1.486 million vs. 1.342 million), Adults 25-54 (+35,000 - 555,000 vs. 520,000) and Adults 18-49 (+21,000 - 420,000 vs. 399,000).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. ROXANNA Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EST, on The ABC Television Network.
