NORMAN, Starring Emily VanCamp & Dan Byrd, Set for 5/7 DVD ReleaseFreestyle Digital Media announced today that they have acquired all DVD and VOD rights to NORMAN, the critically acclaimed drama directed by Jonathan Segal ("The Last Run"), which stars Emily Vancamp ("Revenge"), Dan Byrd ("Cougar Town"), Richard Jenkins ("Jack Reacher"), Adam Goldberg ("Saving Private Ryan") and Billy Lush ("The Black Donnellys"). The film was produced by Kim Blackburn, Dan Keston, Hawk Koch and Jonathan Segal. NORMAN, a previous winner of the Silver Hugo New Directors Competition at the Chicago International Film Festival, is slated for a simultaneous DVD and VOD release on May 7, 2013.

NORMAN tells the story of Norman Long (Dan Byrd), a self-aware and darkly funny teen who is trying to handle his daily High School existence. An unexpected set of life-changing circumstances turns his world upside down and then ultimately right side up as he meets the magnetic Emily (Emily Vancamp). With love, humility and a heavy dose of truth, he emerges to face challenges not meant for a boy his age.

"Norman is a life-affirming film with wonderful performances and excellent reviews," said Susan Jackson, CEO of FDM. "The film has real heart and we are delighted to be working with such a talented young cast and director."

Said Director/Producer Jonathan Segal: "Freestyle emphatically connected with the film and we believe their experience in marketing and distributing commercial and character driven films will be a great fit for Norman."

Freestyle Digital Media's slate of releases includes THE PLAYROOM starring John Hawkes, the upcoming critical hit SAMSARA, from filmmakers Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson, as well as the recently released YOU MAY NOT KISS THE BRIDE starring Katharine McPhee and Rob Schneider. Additional releases include LOVING THE BAD MAN starring Stephen Baldwin, AMPHIBIOUS: CREATURE FROM THE DEEP from filmmakers Brian Yuzna and San Fu Maltha, and the critically-acclaimed Filipino horror-thriller THE ROAD from director Yam Laranas.
