NBC's THE VOICE Wins Time Period Among Big 4 in Total Viewers & More

The premiere of "Timeless" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET): Wins the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49, beating the debut of ABC's "Conviction" by a +90% margin in 18-49 rating (1.9 vs. 1.0).

Also tops the second hour of CBS's two-hour "Scorpion" season premiere in 18-49 (1.9 vs. 1.7 from 10-11 for "Scorpion," note that CBS ratings are subject to revision due to NFL coverage in the Minneapolis market).

Captures NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the slot with regular programming since Nov. 23, 2015 and biggest overall viewership with regular programs since Nov. 16, 2015.

Also wins the 10 p.m. hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos.

"The Voice" (2.9/10 in 18-49, 11.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET): Wins the time period among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos.

Beats "Dancing With the Stars" by a +71% margin in 18-49 (2.9 vs. 1.7 from 8-10 p.m.) and tops "Dancing" in every key measure, including total viewers.

Grows +38% versus what the show was averaging at the end of last season in 18-49 (2.9 vs. 2.1 during the May sweep) and +17% in total viewers (11.581 million vs. 9.891 million).

Will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD - last season, Monday's "Voice" grew by +24% going from L+SD to L+7 in 18-49 rating (from a 2.81 to a 3.49) and 2.0 million viewers overall (11.5 million to 13.5 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.5/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.0/5.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/5; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

For the Week: NBC has scored a decisive win for Week 2 of the 2016-17 primetime TV season in the key adult 18-49 demographic, with five of the top-10 rankings among primetime shows on the Big 4 networks being accounted for by "Sunday Night Football," Monday's NBC News Presidential Debate Analysis, two editions of "The Voice" and the hit new drama "This Is Us," according to "live plus same day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

For the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2, NBC ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 - and also ranked #1 in adults 18-49 counting entertainment programming only (excluding live news and sports).

In adults 18-49 for the week, "Sunday Night Football" ranked #1 among primetime telecasts on the Big 4, Monday's Debate Analysis ranked #2, Tuesday's "Voice" finished #5, Monday's "Voice" ranked #6 and Tuesday's "This Is Us" tied for #9 (rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows).

In total viewers, NBC accounted for four of the week's top seven primetime shows on the Big 4 with #1 "SNF," #5 Debate Analysis, #6 Tuesday "Voice" and #7 Monday "Voice."

In its second week, NBC's "This Is Us" was again the top-rated first-year drama of the week in 18-49 and has now delivered the two highest ratings for any telecast of any new drama on ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX so far this season

NBC has now ranked #1 among the Big 4 networks in viewers 18-49 for 14 of the last 15 weeks.

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key demographic and is #1 in adults 18-49 counting entertainment programming only.
