NBC's THE VOICE Retains 96% of Total Viewers from Debut Episode

NBC swept six of six half-hours among the Big 4 networks last night in adults 18-49 and total viewers with "The Voice" and "The Blacklist," both of which ranked #1 in their time periods among the Big 4 networks in every key ratings category.

· "The Voice" (4.5 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49, 15.7 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET,) retained 96% of last week's premiere rating (4.5 vs. 4.7) and 99% of last week's average in total viewers (15.651 million vs. 15.858 million), and note that last week's 15.9 million was the biggest L+SD audience for any music-competition show on any network since Fox's "American Idol" averaged 16.1 million viewers on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.


· The 4.5 for last night's "The Voice" is the show's second-highest 18-49 rating for a Monday telecast since Oct. 14, trailing over that span only last week's 4.7 for the debut episode. And excluding last week, it's the top Monday total-viewer result since March 5, 2012.


· From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Blacklist" (2.7/8 in adults 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall) dominated the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC, prevailing by a 69% margin over ABC's second-place "Castle" (1.6/4) and topping CBS's "Intelligence" by 125% (2.7 vs. 1.2). "The Blacklist" retained 87% of the prior week's rating in adults 18-49 (2.7 vs. 3.1) and 99% in total viewers (11.065 million vs. 11.179 million).


· "The Blacklist" ranked #1 in The Hour among ABC, CBS and NBC with dominant margins in every key measure. Versus NBC's averages in the slot last season, last night's "Blacklist" is up 35% in 18-49 rating (2.7 vs. 2.0, L+SD non-sports) and 93% in total viewers (11.065 million vs. 5.746 million), pending updates.


· L+3 TIME-SHIFTING: Last week's "Blacklist" grew by 4.7 million viewers in "live plus three day" results (to 15.9 million from 11.2 million) and was up 47% in 18-49 (to a 4.55 from a 3.09).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 4.2/11; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.5/6.


· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.7/8; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/4.


· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.


· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (2.0/7 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.9/6 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).


· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.2/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

For the Week:

· NBC has finished #2 among the Big 4 networks for the Primetime ratings week of Feb. 24-March 2 behind only Academy Award-boosted ABC. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall for the week of Feb. 24-March 2, to jump 50% above its 1.2 rating in 18-49 for the same week last year and 53% above its year-ago 4.1 million viewers.


· NBC was up versus the same week last year by double-digit percentages in every key ratings measure.


· Monday's edition of "The Voice" ranked #4 among the week's Primetime programs on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, with the Tuesday "Voice" ranking #6 and "The Blacklist" tying for #9. Also ranking among the top 30 Primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX last week were Tuesday's "About a Boy" encore (tied for #22), Wednesday's "Chicago P.D." (tied for #24), Tuesday's "Growing Up Fisher" rebroadcast (tied for #28) and Wednesday's "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #28).


· Excluding Academy Award-related programming on ABC, "The Voice" delivered the #2 and #3 ratings of the week on the Big 4 in 18-49 and "The Blacklist" tied for #6. The two "Voice" editions were the #1 and #2 non-Oscar programs on those net in teens 12-17 and kids 2-11.


· Through 23 weeks of the season, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in 18-49 this late in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).


· NBC's 3.1 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in six years (since a 3.1 in 2007-08).


· Versus one year ago, NBC is up 19% season to date in adults 18-49 (3.1 vs. 2.6).


· In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season with an average of 10.3 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 23 weeks into the season in 10 years (since 2003-04, 11.0 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 37% season to date in total viewers (10.3 million vs. 7.5 million).
