NBC's NIGHT SHIFT Grows +38% Week-to-Week in Time Slot

NBC wins Wednesday among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key category.
"The Night Shift" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET): Matches its season high in 18-49 and sets a new season high in total viewers.

Grows +38% week to week in 18-49 (1.1 vs. 0.8 from 9-11 p.m. on June 29) and 1.2 million persons or +28% in total viewers (5.696 million vs. 4.463 million).

Delivers the show's most-watched telecast since March 2015 (6.1 million on Monday, March 2, 2015 following "The Voice").

Scores the show's highest 18-49 rating since its June 1 season premiere (1.1) and ranks as the night's #1 scripted show on the Big 4 in 18-49 and total viewers.

Finishes #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key measure, posting an +83% margin among those networks in adults 18-49 (1.1 vs. 0.6 each for CBS's original "American Gothic" and ABC's comedy encores).

Will grow substantially via time-shifting and VOD: Night Shift" has increased by +44% this summer in 18-49 rating (from a 0.96 to a 1.38) and 1.7 million viewers overall (4.5 million to 6.2 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

An encore recap telecast of "America's Got Talent" (1.7/7 in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET): Grows +31% versus an 8-9 p.m. encore on the same night last year in 18-49 (1.7 vs. 1.3 on July 8, 2015) and 1.6 million persons or +23% in total viewers (8.246 million vs. 6.679 million).

Wins the two-hour 8-10 p.m. time period on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures and ranks as the #1 show of the night in total viewers.

Wins its second hour from 9-10 p.m. in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Wednesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets (the Knoxville market is currently excluded), household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.4/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/3 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.8/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2 with an encore).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
