From 8-11 p.m., NBC's coverage of "The 70th AnnuAl Golden Globe Awards" aired live in all time zones and currently available fast affiliate-based ratings are not time zone-adjusted and understate the telecast's ratings. In metered-market households, which are time zone-adjusted, the "Golden Globes" averaged a 13.1 rating, 20 share, up 12 percent versus last year's 11.7/18.

It's the top "Golden Globes" rating in metered-market households in six years (since Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, 16.0/23).

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, the "Golden Globes" jumped 23 percent versus last year in adults 18-49, for the top Local People Meter rating in the five years NBC has been tracking the category. While these major-market LPM ratings are likely higher than where the national 18-49 ratings will come in later today, the currently available 18-49 result in the Local People Meter markets is a 7.6 rating, 19 share versus last year's 6.2/16 in the LPM markets.

From 7-8 p.m., the "Golden Globes Red Carpet Special 2013" aired live in all time zones and the fast affiliate-based ratings due from Nielsen at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT are subject to significant revision. In metered-market households, the "Golden Globes Red Carpet Special 2013" averaged a 4.8 rating, 7 share, up 26 percent versus its 3.8/6 of one year ago. It's the top result in metered-market households for the "Red Carpet Special" in four years (since Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, 4.9/8).

NOTE: All national ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.
