NBC's BIGGEST LOSER Finale Jumps 29% Week-to-Week

The finale of "The Biggest Loser 15" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) jumped 29% week to week in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2 from a 1.7) to achieve the top "Loser" rating since the season premiere on Oct. 15 did a 2.3 in its 8-9 p.m. slot. In total viewers, last night's 7.4 million is a 13% increase week to week, lifting "Loser" to a season-high in overall viewership.



These are NBC's top results in the time period since the "Voice" finale on Dec. 17 in 18-49 and total viewers.



In total viewers, "Loser" is virtually matching its previous finale (7.380 million vs. 7.389 million from 8-10:01 p.m. ET on Monday, March 18, 2013) and is up 2% versus the finale before that (7.205 million from 8-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012). In 18-49, last night's "Loser" ran within 19% of The March 18, 2013 finale (2.7) and matched the finale before that on May 1, 2012 (2.2).



For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" ranked #1 against original drama competition on ABC and CBS (with a 2.3 rating vs. a 2.1 for CBS's "Person of Interest" and a 0.7 for ABC's "Killer Women"). "Loser" also ranked #1 among those networks from 10-11 p.m. in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos and was #1 for the full 9-11 p.m. time period among the Big 4 networks in women 18-34 and women 18-49.



From 8-9 p.m. ET, the NBC Special "Winter Gold: NBC's First Look at the Sochi Olympics Broadcast Presented by Chevrolet" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) maintained its rating from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 and grew in adults 18-34 by 11% (to a 1.0 from a 0.9), by 9% in women 18-34 (1.1 vs. 1.0) and by 13% in men 18-34 (0.9 vs. 0.8).





In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:



Last night's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" delivered the show's highest overnight rating for any night of the week in nearly four years, since the first week of Jay's return in March 2010. For Jimmy Fallon, it was his top Tuesday in metered-market household ratings since June 2009, and matched Jimmy's top-rated Tuesday ever.



Leno scored a 4.2 rating, 10 share in metered-market households, "Tonight's" strongest local-market rating for any night of the week since Wednesday, March 3, 2010 (4.2/11). It was the highest Tuesday "Tonight" since March 2, 2010 (4.6/12).



Fallon delivered a 2.1/7 in households, his highest rating for a Tuesday since June 2, 2009 (2.1/7), during the week Conan O'Brien took over "The Tonight Show." The 2.1 matches Fallon's all-time Tuesday high.



Guests on "Tonight" Tuesday night included Matthew McConaughey, Charles Barkley and musical guest Lyle Lovett



The Feb. 4 edition of "Late Night" presented "The Best of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon: Digital Originals."





Late-Night Details:



In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 4.2/10; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 3.0/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.



In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.



From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.



From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (2.1/7 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.5/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.8/5 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).



At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.2/5 in metered-market households and a 0.6/5 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
