NBC Universo to Air Live Coverage of FIFA Women's World Cup Canada, 6/26

NBC UNIVERSO, the modern sports and entertainment cable channel for Latinos, will telecast live the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada™ 2015 quarterfinals match USA vs. China Fri., June 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT. The game can also be enjoyed on NBCDeportes.com and the NBC Deportes en VIVO EXTRA mobile app.

The American women issued their third shutout of the tournament last evening when they defeated a feisty Colombia team 2-0. The win secures for the red-white-and-blue a spot in the upcoming quarterfinals. The U.S. women have advanced to this round in every World Cup competition since 1991.

China has earned its spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Cameroon this past weekend 1-0. Friday's CONTEST will be the first quarterfinal appearance by the Chinese women in eight years after they failed to qualify for the 2011 tournament.

Friday's game will be a rematch of the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup final held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Cali. and, at the time, was the most-attended women's sports event in history with an official attendance of 90,185. The final was scoreless after extra time and won by the U.S. in a penalty shootout.
