NBC UNIVERSO, the modern sports and entertainment cable channel for Latinos, announced that the Liga MX semi-final match, Pachuca vs. Querétaro, on Thu., May 21, ranked as the second-highest-rated telecast in the network's history. The match, produced by NBC Deportes, averaged 710,000 total viewers 2+, including 445,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. The match also drew 341,000 male adults 18-49, according to Nielsen, making it the most-viewed telecast among that group ever for the network.
Another Liga MX match, León vs. Toluca on May 8, 2014, holds the network's highest adult 18-49 and total viewership. With the popularity of Liga MX soccer among U.S. Hispanics, NBC UNIVERSO will exclusively air all of the home games for Pachuca and León every Saturday night beginning this fall.
