NBC Names Winner of Design Competition Series AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS

Chicago designer Lukas Machnik was crowned winner of NBC's ambitious reality design competition series "American Dream Builders" tonight, beating out fellow Chicagoan Jay Riordan.

After nine weeks and 19 home renovations, the final two designers met for one last challenge - transforming two beach cottages along the sand in Ventura, California. Each of them tackled a complete renovation in a matter of days with breathtaking results. The 34-year old Machnik will take home the $250,000 grand prize along with the title of "American Dream Builder."

A native of Poland, Machnik is a rising design star in the design world. His high-end projects include homes throughout Europe and the U.S. In addition to interior design, he is an artist as well as a furniture and object designer. His signature minimalist style has earned him the nickname "Bad Boy of Design."

Hosted by renowned designer Nate Berkus, "American Dream Builders" showcased the talents of 12 highly accomplished designers and home builders from around the country. Each week, the contestants, who were divided into two teams, tackled two massive home-renovation projects. Each episode featured unique architectural styles and special challenges and resulted in stunning home transformations.

Former NFL star-turned landscape designer Eddie George and famed Chicago-based interior designer Monica Pedersen served as judges, along with Berkus.

"American Dream Builders" is produced by Universal Television in association with Steele Mill Productions, Inc. Berkus serves as executive producer along with Tom Shelly ("Love in the Wild," "Survivor") and Jason Ehrlich ("The Bachelor").

Nick Jonas Film THE GOOD HALF To Be Released This Summer

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival last June, The Good Half, starring Nick Jonas, will be hitting theaters this July. According to reports, the film has been acquired by Utopia and, in partnership with Fathom Events, a limited release will include 900 North American theaters on July 23 and 25. Attendees will also get to see a virtual Q&A with Jonas and director Robert Schwartzman. A wide release is expected later in the year.

Steve Carell Joins Tina Fey in Netflix's THE FOUR SEASONS

According to multiple reports, Steve Carell has closed a deal which would reunite him with Tina Fey in a television remake of The Four Seasons from Netflix. The Office alum will star in the remake of Alan Alda's 1981 feature, who will star alongside Tina Fey in the series. Fey co-created the adaptation with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, whom she worked with on 30 Rock. The film is set to go into production later this year.
