NBC & NBCSN to Air Over 30 Hours of Motorsports Coverage This Week

NBC Sports Group will present more than 30 hours of motorsports coverage this weekend, highlighted by live coverage of the INDYCAR Firestone 600 on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The 2016 Verizon INDYCAR SERIES resumes on NBCSN this weekend for the final eight races of the 2016 season, leading into the season finale at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 18.

In addition to this weekend's INDYCAR coverage on NBCSN, NBC Sports Group continues its 2016 Formula One coverage this Sunday with the Canadian Grand Prix at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

NBC Sports Live Extra - NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will provide streaming coverage of this weekend's INDYCAR Firestone 600 and F1 Canadian Grand Prix.


INDYCAR FIRESTONE 600 - SATURDAY AT 8:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Beginning this weekend, NBCSN will provide exclusive coverage of the final eight races of the 2016 Verizon INDYCAR Series, culminating with the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma on September 18 on NBCSN.

Coverage of the Firestone 600 from Texas Motor Speedway begins on Friday at noon ET with practice, followed by qualifying at 6 p.m. ET. Saturday's coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET with pre-race coverage, leading into the Firestone 600 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Last weekend, Sebastian Bourdais (KVSH Racing) andWill Power (Penske) each won at the Detroit doubleheader in Belle Isle on June 4-5. Simon Pagenaud(Penske) finished second in the second Detroit race, and holds an 80-point lead over Scott Dixon (Target Chip Ganassi) in the championship standings. Last year, Dixon won the Firestone 600 for the second time in his career.

Brian Till (play-by-play) will call the action alongside former drivers Paul Tracy and Townsend Bell. Reporters Marty Snider, Katie Hargitt, Robin Miller and Kevin Lee will report from the pits.


FORMULA ONE CANADIAN GRAND PRIX - SUNDAY AT 2 P.M. ET ON NBC

NBC Sports Group's Formula One coverage continues with the Canadian Grand Prix live from Montreal this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) made his way back atop the podium with his second career win at the Monaco Grand Prix on May 29 for his first victory of the 2016 campaign. Hamilton won last year's Canadian Grand Prix, holding off Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg for his fourth win at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Rosberg boasts 106 points this season through six races, followed by Hamilton (82 pts) and 2014 Canadian GP winner Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull; 66 pts)

Coverage begins Friday on NBC Sports Live Extra at 10 a.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by NBCSN's coverage of Practice 2 at 2 p.m. ET. Live Extra will stream coverage of Practice 3 on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, prior to NBCSN's live coverage of qualifying at 1 p.m. ET. NBC will present pre-race coverage on F1 Countdown on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, leading into the Canadian Grand Prix at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. NBCSN will also air an encore presentation Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group's lead F1 broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett, and F1 insider Will Buxton will call the action on-site from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
