Deadline reports that Mike Tyson will make his TV acting debut in the long-running NBC drama series LAW AND ORDER: SVU. The heavyweight champ will guest star as a convicted murderer on the show.

Tyson's character, 'Reggie Rhodes' is being described as "a murderer on death row whose violent actions may in part be the byproduct of a horrible childhood. His case attracts the attention of Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and defense attorney Bayard Ellis (recurring guest star Andre Braugher) during an SVU investigation." Emmy award winner Ed Asner will also guest star on the episode as someone who has a connection to the investigation.

Tyson has made cameo TV appearances as himself on such comedies as Who's The Boss, Entourage and Breaking In. He has also appeared on the big screen as himself in the blockbuster franchise 'The Hangover.'

Veteran crime drama Law & Order: SVU is executive produced by creator Dick Wolf, Warren Leight, Julie Martin, Michael Smith and Peter Jankowski.
