Melissa Leo Boards HBO's Adaptation of ALL THE WAY

According to Variety, Oscar winner Melissa Leo has signed on to join Tony-winning Broadway star Bryan Cranston in HBO's film adaptation of Robert Schenkkan's play ALL THE WAY, directed by Jay Roach.

The story takes audiences behind the doors of the Oval Office and inside the first year of LBJ's presidency and his fight to pass a landmark civil rights bill.

Leo will take on the role of LBJ's wife, Lady Bird Johnson.

Anthony Mackie also recently boarded the adaptation as Martin LUTHER King, Jr.

With Robert Schenkkan set to adapt ALL THE WAY, the movie will be produced by Amblin Television, Tale Told Productions, and Moon Shot Entertainment. Steven Spielberg,Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey will serve as executive producers with Schenkkan and Cranston with James Degus as co-executive producer.

Production on ALL THE WAY will begin in September.

Leo has appeared on TV in the upcoming series Wayward Pines as well as Treme, Mildred Pierce, Law & Order, The L Word, All My Children and Homicide: Life on the Street. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performances in the 2008 film Frozen River and 2010's The Fighter.
