Yesterday, BWW reported that HAMILTON creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to reveal that for the first time, he requested that a celebrity in the audience of the hit off-Broadway musical be banned from a backstage visit. According to Deadline, the A-lister in question at Saturday night's performance was none other than Madonna!

Tweeted Miranda: "Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou" The tweet was later deleted.

Today, US Weekly reports that Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, has released a statement on the incident to the site, commenting, "It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation."

However fellow audience member Casey Erin Clark took to Twitter to tell a very different version of the events. Clark, who was seated behind the singer, posted: "That time you want to smack #Madonna upside the head for texting during the best show I've ever seen. #HAMILTONpublic."
