Joel Hodgson, who created and hosted Mystery Science Theater 3000, announced during a reddit AMA yesterday, November 25, that he is working on a reboot of the cult series but declined to give any details. Hodgson wrote, "We're working on it. I'll tell ya later."

Tom, Crow, Gypsy and Cambot are set to return for the reboot, alongside some new robots.

MST3K premiered in 1988 on KTMA in Minneapolis and eventually moved to THE COMEDY Channel / Comedy Central for another six seasons until 1997. It then moved over over to Syfy and ran for three more seasons.

The show centers on a man and his robot friends who are imprisoned on a space station and forced to watch horrible movies as part of a psychological experiment. To keep themselves sane, the group provides a running commentary on each film. Hodgson originally starred as the man, Joel Robinson, and was replaced by head writer Michael J. Nelson in the role in '93.
