MAMA Takes Weekend Box Office with $28 MillionAs previously predicted, Jessica Chastain ruled over this weekend's box office.

Her newest film, MAMA, produced by Guillermo Del Toro, claimed the top spot with $28.1 million. The other feature in which she stars, Kathryn Bigelow's ZERO DARK THIRTY, took in an additional $17.6M following its $24M opening last weekend, taking second place. The film, which follows the decade-long manhunt for Osama bin Laden, has now grossed $55.9M since it opened in limited theaters in December.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, following its nationwide release on Friday, took in another $11.3M, raising its total to $55.3 million.

Warner Bros.' GANGSTER SQUAD, led by an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, once again underperformed. The film, which took the fourth spot this weekend with $9.1M, now rests at $32.2M.

20th Century Fox's BROKEN CITY, with Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe, earned $9 million, rounding out the top five.
