Ellie Kemper's mother might be a bit mad.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MADTV alum Stephnie Weir has reportedly signed on to star as Kemper's mom on NBC's upcoming single-camera comedy pilot BRENDA FOREVER.

BRENDA FOREVER, written and executive produced by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson, will feature moments from Brenda Miller's past, as well as her present, which come together to show how a once awkward, though confident, 13-year-old became a 31-year-old woman who consistently does her own thing.

Weir will play 'Shelley Miller', "a good mom who doesn't take things too seriously but speaks up when she has to, and tends to be unreadable at times."

Da'Vine Joy Randolph has also signed on for the project.

Best known for her role as 'Erin Hannon' in NBC's THE OFFICE, set to close its doors for the final tim this spring, Kemper was last seen in supporting roles in the films BRIDESMAIDS and 21 JUMP STREET.
