Lucero & More to Hit the Stage at PREMIOS TU MUNDO

Telemundo announced today the initial list of performers and presenters for the third annual Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards). The spectacular event will feature exciting musical performances by the multi-faceted actress and singer Lucero, Corrido front man Gerardo Ortiz, "La Voz Kids" coach Natalia Jimenez and legendary musical band Los Tucanes de Tijuana among other top Latin music acts to be announced soon. The awards show is set to broadcast live on Thursday, August 21, at 8PM/7c from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Preceded by the star-studded Blue carpet pre-show "La Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo," the annual awards show is a true celebration of U.S. Latino pop culture. Fans will vote for their favorite actors, singers and TV moments, selecting from 26 competing categories. The full list of nominees and voting information can be found at PremiosTuMundo.com. Recognized in Latin America and Mexico as "La Novia de America" (America's sweetheart), Lucero has sold more than 27 million records worldwide. The upcoming host of mega-reality musical competition "Yo Soy El Artista" (I Am the Artist), gained her first regular high-profile role in a popular children's show in Mexico City at the early age of 10, and since then has released a series of successful albums with chart-topping songs. As an actress, she received her first leading role in the film "Coqueta" and went on to film a total of seven movies and star in multiple telenovelas including "Alborada," which earned her an Emmy Award. Lucero has hosted the Latin Grammy Awards eight times and the Mexican Telethon since 1997, in addition to the Telethon in Chile, Guatemala, El Salvador and the U.S. Lucero also was a coach in the successful singing competition "La Voz Mexico" in its first season.

Amidst singers and songwriters of Mexican regional music, a new leader arrived with the sweeping force that combines youth, charisma, talent and originality: Gerardo Ortiz. Born in Pasadena, California and raised in Sinaloa, Ortiz has quickly become the maximum phenomenon of the regional Mexican genre. A true social media maven, his music videos have over 150 million views. One of the most industry recognized singers in recent years, Gerardo Ortiz has also performed at sold-out shows in hundreds of venues.

Born in Madrid, Spain, Natalia Jimenez is an award-winning singer who became known as the lead vocalist of the Spanish pop band, La Quinta Estación. Based in Mexico for almost 10 years, the music group released four successful albums, traveled the world and won prestigious awards including Grammys, Latin Grammys and Premios Ondas. Recognized as one of the most influential young women in Latin music for her signature powerful vocals, the singer returned in 2014 as coach of Telemundo's highly successful "La Voz Kids" and with "Creo en Mi," the first single from her upcoming second solo album.

Los Tucanes de Tijuana is a quartet of musicians from their namesake city who have risen to be recognized as global ambassadors of Norteño music and Corrido ballads. Loved all over the world, they have sold over 13 million albums and more than five million attendees have enjoyed their concerts.

Hosted this year by Gaby Espino and Aaron Diaz, Premios Tu Mundo will also feature as presenters, beloved TV personalities Monica Noguera, Raul Gonzalez, and Yarel Ramos; actresses Aylin Mujica(Los Miserables), Blanca Soto (Señora Acero), Carmen Villalobos (El Señor de los Cielos), David Chocarro (En Otra Piel), Juan Soler (Reina de Corazones), Mauricio Ochmann (El Señor de los Cielos),Rafael Amaya (El Señor de los Cielos), and Ricardo Chavez (Marido De Alquiler); and host of popular Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado, Dr. Ana Maria Polo.
