Loretta Devine Will Return to 'Grey's Anatomy'

Broadway vet Loretta Devine will return to to the ABC drama Grey's Anatomy in the role of Adele Webber for five episodes, beginning on February 17, according to EW.com.

Devine's character, Adele Webber, is the wife of Chief of Staff Richard Webber (played by James Pickens, Jr.). According to reports, Webber will be seeking medical attention.

Devine's Broadway credits include DREAMGIRLS, HAIR, COMIN' UPTOWN and BIG DEAL. She made a cameo appearance in the film version of DREAMGIRLS. Her television credits include A DIFFERENT WORLD, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, BOSTON LEGAL and ELI STONE.'

Grey's Anatomy,' which first aired in March 2005, is a medical drama focusing on the staff of a hospital in Seattle. The series has received two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In addition to Williams, the seventh season's main cast will include Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Junior, Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane, Chyler Leigh, Kevin McKidd, Jessica Capshaw, Kim Raver, Sarah Drew, and Patrick Dempsey.
