Brooklyn-based actress Lisann Valentin is starring in the new web series "Cornelia", which she describes a "window into the Latino experience in an ever-changing borough."

Named for Cornelia Street in Brooklyn, the dramedy centers on the Castillo family, exploring loyalty amidst loss and maintaining cultural values in a neighborhood that is rapidly becoming the new hipster hotspot.

As a Brooklyn resident herself, Valentin believes the "the blessings and burdens of living in a neighborhood that is suddenly on the map," will feel very authentic to viewers. What this means for the Castillo family in particular is shown through the perspective of siblings who face their family legacy head-on, beginning on the day of their mothers funeral.

Starring as the diva sister Pilar, the actress delights in how "organic the story feels. The love, the loss, the laughter - by the end of this season, you'll want to be a part of the Castillo family, just wait and see."

"Cornelia," which is based on true events, is written and produced by actress Rose Gonzalez. The web series is slated to premiere in December. See the trailer here: https://youtu.be/bicjBw21wYk
