After wrapping up his rookie season as a judge on FOX's American Idol Season 12, Keith Urban tells the Washington Post that the prospect of returning next year is still up in the air.

"I have no official information of anything," he revealed. "I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season. It was like this before I signed on ... so it's not unusual for the Idol folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together."

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Oscar winner and former Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson was in negotiations to become a judge for season 13 as part of a "all-alumni panel". Rumored to be joining her will be Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken or rock star Adam Lambert.

A representative for Season One winner Kelly Clarkson denied reports that she would appear on the panel, insisting "Kelly will not be a judge on Idol."
