Gingold Theatrical Group's goal is to carve a permanent niche for the work of George Bernard Shaw within the social and cultural life of New York; bringing his canon and precepts to larger audiences while encouraging individuals to breathe these humanist ideals into their contributions for the future. Their PROJECT SHAW reading series, now in its seventh year, is the first group ever to present all of Shaw's 65 plays.

GTG Artistic Director and founder, David Staller, produces and directs all of the Project Shaw and Shaw New York festival performances.

Judith Ivey won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Steaming and Hurlyburly, the Obie Award for The Moonshot Tape, and countless others for her many stage and film portrayals. Recent NY stage appearances include The Heiress, The Lady With All The Answers, and The Glass Menagerie (Lortell Award). She is currently in The Curse of the Starving Glass in Long Wharf. A sampling of her film appearances include Devil's Advocate, Washington Square, Mystery, Alaska, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Love Hurts, Compromising Positions, What Alice Found, Flags Of Our Fathers, and Bird Of The Air. On TV she has starred in several series, including the celebrated Designing Women. As a director she has helmed innumerable productions across the country, including several in NYC.

Robert Osborne has served as primetime host and anchor of Turner Classic Movies since its launch in 1994, and also hosts TCM's Festivals, cruises, the weekly Essentials showcase and numerous specials including the Private Screenings interview specials with Hollywood luminaries. As a journalist, he was a reporter and columnist for "The Hollywood Reporter" for more than 25 years (covering the New York scene), and has authored many books on Hollywood history including the soon to be released 85 Years of the Oscar (the sixth
edition of this top-seller). His Hollywood Walk of Fame Star was unveiled in 2008. He has received a special award from the National Board of Review for his contributions as a film historian.

Tyne Daly (Gala Chair) recently starred in Master Class on Broadway and in London, reprising the role of Maria Callas, which she played at The Kennedy Center. Her numerous awards include a Tony for her performance as Rose in the hit 1989 revival of Gypsy and a Tony nomination for Rabbit Hole. Her TV appearances are too numerous to list, but she is best known for her work on Cagney & Lacey (four Emmys), Judging Amy (Emmy) and Christy (Emmy), in addition to several TV films. She has received 16 Emmy nominations. Film work includes Georgia, with Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons.

Last year's honorees were playwright Terrence McNally and actor Brian Murray.

The Golden Shamrock Award is awarded annually for Artistic Contribution to Society.

The funds raised for this gala will be put toward financing GTG's next co-production. This year, they will be partnering with a renowned Off-Broadway company on a production of Shaw's sparkling comedy You Never Can Tell to open their season in the autumn. Details will be forthcoming. GTG's last co-production (with The Irish Repertory Theatre) was the wildly popular sold-out production of Shaw's epic Man and Superman. This production will be the centerpiece of GTG's second annuAl Shaw New York festival, including symposiums, concerts and new play readings.
