Jonas Agin has been promoted to vice president, Original Series, Disney Channel and Disney XD. Agin, who joined Disney in 2010, will oversee creative development of live-action television series for Disney Channel and Disney XD. The announcement was made today by Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide, to whom Agin reports.

In making the announcement, Bonnett said, "Jonas has proven his ability to develop material that connects with our audience, and his taste for innovative kid and family programming is invaluable to our growth. He has strong relationships with some of the best writers, directors and producers and he knows how to develop programming that makes kids laugh and move them emotionally. I'm excited that he is extending his creative vision and passion to Disney Channel in his well-deserved new role."

Agin most recently held the position of executive director, Original Series, Disney XD, a role he transitioned to in 2012. He is responsible for developing the network's upcoming series including "Walk the Prank" and "MECH-X4," and some of its most popular current series including "Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything" and "Kirby Buckets." Previously, he was executive director, Global Original Series, working with creative teams across Disney Channels Worldwide. In this role, he oversaw creative development of Disney XD's hit live-action series "Lab Rats."

Prior to joining Disney, Agin oversaw development and programming at the Tom Lynch Company where he also served as a writer and producer on series for teens and tweens including "South of Nowhere," "Romeo!" and "Class of 3000."

Agin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree
