John Goodman Joins Cast of TV's 'Damages'

"Damages", which is set to return this summer, has announced additional casting for its fourth season. Actor John Goodman - whose lengthy list of stage and film roles dates over more than three decades - will play the CEO of a company facing a wrongful death suit, reports Digital Spy.

Goodman is most famous for his role as Dan Conner on the American sitcom, Roseanne, which aired on ABC from 1988 to 1997. In 1985, Goodman originated the role of Pap Finn in the Broadway musical Big River. For his role, he received a Drama Desk nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical; he also is featured on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. Addiditional stage credits include Broadway's Waiting for Godot The Public Theater's The Seagull and The Skin of Or Teeth.

He will join Glenn Close, who has starred in the series since its inception.Glenn Close made her professional theater and Broadway debut in Love for Love. Other early stage credits include The Crucifer of Blood and The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs, for which she won an Obie Award. Close's first Tony Award nomination came for her role in the musical Barnum, and she subsequently won Tony Awards for her performances in The Real Thing and Death and the Maiden. For her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Sunset Boulevard, Close won a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and a Dramalogue Award.

Damages, which premiered in 2007, will air its fourth season beginning July 2011 on DirecTV.
