TMZ.com reports that Jeff Daniels has confirmed the news that the planned sequel to the 1994 hit comedy DUMB AND DUMBER is officially a no-go. According to the report, Daniels revealed that the film is "like a parakeet without a head ... dead."

Just three months ago, director Peter Farrelly announced that both Daniels and co-star Jim Carrey of the original film would return to reprise their roles. That news was apparently announced prematurely.

Yesterday it was reported that Carrey had also dropped out of the project after being frustrated by New Line and Warner Bros. apparent lack of interest in the upcoming project. He confirmed the news to ET commenting, "I would have thought 'Dumb and Dumber To' was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."
