The producers of In Focus with Martin Sheen are pleased to announce an upcoming report on how the treatment of addiction is becoming much more effective thanks to the introduction of medication into the recovery regimen.

Martin Sheen PBS is an independently produced television series airing in markets around the country on public television. The program is hosted by the legendary Martin Sheen, who is about to embark on his second half-century in American entertainment. Mr. Sheen has developed a reputation as one of Hollywood's most respected actors during a career that includes more than 60 film appearances.

In Focus Martin Sheen reviews new innovations that are bringing hope to patients with a variety of illnesses, including addiction. New medication is helping patients by addressing underlying psychiatric conditions that trigger some people to use, and other medications are actually working inside the body chemistry to reduce cravings. In Focus is talking to leaders in the treatment of addiction about how these medications are helping people recover from long-term drug dependency.
