Holly Golightly and the Brokeoffs have released a new album, It's Her Fault, and have embarked on their U.S. tour.
Holly Golightly confesses upfront: "I'm not looking to achieve something that hasn't been achieved before. We just what we do. The songs are really all that changes." It's still a raw, rough-hewn stew of twisted roots music forged by the duo's distinct musical interests - she listens to late '50s/early '60s R&B and he loves rock 'n' roll. "We just what we do. The songs are really all that change." Just before the holidays I sent you Holly G & the Brokeoffs' forthcoming album, scheduled for March 4 release. She and musical/domestic partner Lawyer Dave (multi-instrumentalist Dave is The Brokeoffs) will tour the U.S. all of April and May (New York on April 21, Los Angeles on May 16, Austin on May 23 and Nashville on May 30 - full updated itinerary below). For a few years now, East Sussex, U.K.-born Holly and Texas-born Lawyer Dave have lived in deep rural Georgia - not too many miles from Athens though far closer to Hooterville in terms of amenities. Their rural lifestyle has put a folksy spin on their collective punk-rock, blues, r&b, country, skiffle and Texas rock 'n' roll roots, without undermining their ongoing indie cachet. They recorded It's Her Fault at their home studio in between attending to their farm and two rescued horses. By now they've earned their props as a Southern band.Videos
