After viewers suffered through Lindsay Lohan's portrayal of screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in a recent Lifetime biopic, do TV watchers really need to see the lives of the on again/off again famed Hollywood couple Burton and Taylor unfold on the small screen yet again? According to The BBC, the answer is yes!

Deadline is reporting today that Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West will portray Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in an upcoming 90-minute film which will be broadcast on BBC Four. The film will focus on the couple's ill-fated turn in a 1983 Broadway revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives. The show ran for a mere 63 performances on the Great White Way.

The famed Hollywood super couple were married twice, the first time from 1964-1974 and again from 1975-1976. In 2012, Lifetime aired their own version of the volitile romance in their made-for-TV film starring Lohan and Grant Bowler in the title roles.

The new BBC film will come from BBC Drama Productions and will be executive produced by Jessica Pope. Richard Laxton will direct with a screenplay from William Ivory. Lachlan McKinnon (Silent Witness) is producing.
