HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE and FROZEN on Track to Break Thanksgiving Five-Day Holiday Record

Lionsgate's THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE and Disney's FROZEN might be elemental opposites, but the pair of pics is pacing to break the five-day Thanksgiving holiday record originally set by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at $82 million.

CATCHING FIRE, at No. 1, brought in $31 million on Black Friday and is burning its way to more than $110 million by the end of the weekend. FROZEN, in second place, is nearing $25.8 million for Friday with hopes to shatter the $90 million barrier.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD, THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY and DELIVERY MAN are taking up slots three, four and five, with both BLACK NATIVITY and PHILOMENA entering the top 10 at ranks eight and nine.

CATCHING FIRE blew away its competition in its opening weekend, earning a whopping $161.1 million, which surpassses the $152.5 million opening of "The Hunger Games," which opened in March 2012. In addition, the film now holds the record as the best November debut of all time beating "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which debuted with $142.9 million in 2009. "Catching Fire" also trounced the competition on Imax screens, accounting for $12.6 million of its domestic debut.

Only three films have ever premiered higher than "Catching Fire": "The Avengers" ($207.4 million), "Iron Man 3" ($174.1 million), and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" ($169.2 million).

Directed by Francis Lawrence, the action, sci-fi drama stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amanda Plummer, Lynn Cohen, Patrick St. Esprit, Meta Golding, Bruno Gunn, Alan Ritchson, E. Roger Mitchell, Maria Howell, Stephanie Leigh Schlund, Sam Claflin, and Jeffrey Wright.

Walt Disney Pictures' FROZEN features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Santino Fontana and Alan Tudyk and original songs from Tony winner Robert Lopez ("The Book of Mormon," "Avenue Q") and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ("In Transit," "Winnie the Pooh"), and an original score by Christophe Beck ("The Muppets," Oscar-winning short "Paperman").

In the big-screen comedy adventure FROZEN, fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an Epic journey--teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven--to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.
