Real estate and house flipping experts Tarek and Christina El Moussa return for a fifth season of HGTV's popular series FLIP OR FLOP. Premiering today, Thursday, June 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the 15-episode series follows the couple as they buy dilapidated houses and turn them into beautiful family homes.

"Christina and I are in the business of transforming these run-down properties into homes every buyer dreams of," said Tarek. "Renovating these homes also helps improve the look of the whole neighborhood."

Tarek and Christina kick off the season with a property in Whittier, Calif., that would scare most buyers away. As renovation begins, the couple encounters surprise repairs that drive up their costs and delay them from putting the house on the market. These costly problems could whittle the house - and the couple's profit - down to the studs.

"When we're flipping a house, there's always a chance we'll run into an unexpected repair," said Christina. "These surprises keep us on our toes and push us to make the best choices."
