A recent article on Buzzfeed reveals that Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of the popular HGTV home renovation series FIXER UPPER, are members of the Antioch Community Church, a nondenominational, evangelical, mission-based megachurch which according to the report, "takes a hard line against same-sex marriage and promotes converting LGBT people into being straight." It has not been confirmed whether the couple is in agreement with the Church's position on gay marriage.

Today, HGTV has issued a statement to Deadline in response to the Buzzfeed report, saying: "We don't discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows. HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series."

Buzzfeed notes in its report that the popular HGTV series, set in Waco, Texas is "loved by Christians, but also by feminists and LGBT viewers."
