Despite the increased competition from the Olympics, the critically acclaimed limited-series THE NIGHT OF carries momentum into its final episode as it showed growth in viewers every week over the last four episodes, including a 25% jump this past Sunday night. THE NIGHT OF has an average gross audience of 7.0 million viewers season-to-date.

HBO’s summer comedies are also enjoying strong performances. BALLERS continues to be HBO’s biggest half-hour averaging 7.1 viewers in gross audience season-to-date. VICE PRINCIPALS, from the same team behind EASTBOUND & DOWN, is outperforming all seasons of their prior series with an average gross audience of 5.4 million viewers.

“Considering the competition from the Olympics, it is incredibly satisfying to see THE NIGHT OF break through and enjoy word-of-mouth momentum going into this weekend’s finale. Followed by the comedy pairing of BALLERS and VICE PRINCIPALS, we saw great success from our summer lineup,” said Casey Bloys, President of Programming.

LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER continues to have a record season, averaging a gross audience of 5.6 million viewers, (up from last season’s 4.7 million). REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER is averaging 4.4 million viewers, it’s most watched season since it debuted in 2003.
