HBO Orders THE BRINK with Jack Black & Tim Robbins to Series

According to Deadline, HBO has given THE BRINK, starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins, a series order following its initial pilot. The "epic dark comedy" will be directed by Jay Roach, with Jerry Weintraub serving as executive producer.

THE BRINK features a script by Roberto and Kim Benabib. The comedy centers on a geopolitical Crisis and what happens to U.S. Secretary of State Walter Hollander (Robbins) - a Foreign Service officer (Black), and a Navy fighter pilot (Pabo Schreiber). Aasif Mandvi is set to play Rafiq Massoud, a Pakistani who works for the U.S. embassy.

The series also co-stars Maribeth Monroe, Esai Morales, and Geoff Pierson.
