The Hollywood Reporter writes that Toby Jones, known for his voice work as "Dobby" from the Harry Potter films, has joined the cast of FOX's event series WAYWARD PINES.

Jones will join Carla Gugino, Matt Dillon and Melissa Leo for the new event series, slated for a premiere in 2014. Based on the best-selling novel "Pines" by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan ("The Sixth Sense," "Signs"), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending event thriller evocative of the classic cult hit "Twin Peaks."

Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, "Crash," "City of Ghosts") is tasked to head to the secluded town of Wayward Pines, ID, to find two missing federal agents, one being his former partner and romantic interest Kate Hewson (Gugino). Challenged at every turn by the town's die-hard residents, no communication with the outside world, and no way out, Ethan's investigation only turns up more questions, the most important of which is: What's wrong with Wayward Pines?

Jones is set to play psychiatrist Dr. Jenkins, who treats Ethan at Wayward Pines Hospital and points to brain damage as the cause of Ethan's paranoia. Ethan doesn't trust Jenkins or his diagnosis.

WAYWARD PINES is a production of FX Productions. The series is created and written by Chad Hodge ("The Playboy Club," "Runaway") and executive-produced by Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line ("Green Lantern," "The Italian Job") and Ashwin Rajan ("After Earth").

Jones' upcoming projects include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Leave to Remain, Serena and God Only Knows. His film credits include Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy, My Week With Marilyn, Frost/Nixon, Berberian Sound Studio, The Hunger Games, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Mist, Infamous, Finding Neverland and more, as well as HBO's The Girl. Jones appeared on Broadway in 2003 in The Play What I Wrote.
