HARRY POTTER Actor Dave Legeno Passes Away While Hiking in Death Valley at Age 50
ET reports that Dave Legeno, best known for his role as werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the HARRY POTTER film series, died while hiking in Death Valley. He was 50.
According to the report, the Inyo County Sheriff's Dispatch received a notification on Sunday, July 6, that a body was found by a two-person hiking group in a remote section of the National Park located below Manly Beacon, west of Zabriskie Point in Death Valley.
The site was so difficult to get to in fact, that the Highway Patrol helicopter H-82 was needed to assist in transporting the body. The Sheriff's Dispatch believes that the actor passed away of heat-related issues. Summer temperatures in Death Valley are known to rise above 120 degrees.
No Evidence of foul play has been found.
Legeno's first major film role was in Guy Richie's Snatch. Since then he has had roles in Batman Begins, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Centurion. He played werewolf Fenrir Greyback in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as it's preceding and final two films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. He also lent his voice to the videogame The Getaway: Black Monday.
