Glenn Close to be Honored With Hollywood Career Achievement Award, 10/24

According to the Hollywood Reporter, veteran actress Glenn Close will be honored with the 2011 Hollywood Career Achievement Award as part of Starz Entertainment's 15th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards on October 24, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton.

The actress made her film debut in 1982 and has earned five Oscar nominations for her starring roles in The World According to Garp (1982), The Big Chill (1983), The Natural (1984), Fatal Attraction (1987), and Dangerous Liaisons (1988). She also appeared in a number of other successful films including Reversal of Fortune (1990) and 101 Dalmatians (1996).

In September, Close starred in Rodrigo Garcia's "Albert Nobbs", which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. She is considered a leading contender for this year's Best Actress Oscar for the role.
Last month, Close was honored with a lifetime achievement award from the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain.

Previous recipients of the Hollywood Career Achievement Award include Kirk Douglas, Shelley Winters, Jack Lemmon, Richard Dreyfuss, John Travolta, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and Sylvester Stallone.
