The new FOX network show GLEE makes its on-air debut on May 19th, following this season's penultimate "American Idol," and the FOX "Glee" club definitely has a favorite among remaining contestants Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. The cast spoke to the Associated Press about the 'Idol' phenom Lambert.

"Spring Awakening" star Lea Michele who co-stars in GLEE, gushed, "You know what? I love Adam." "I've known Adam for a while. I've known of Adam through the theater world. So, I'm a really big fan. I think Danny's amazing. So, I'd say it's going to be tight between the two of them."

Michele's fellow GLEE castmates, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley and Chris Colfer would seem to agree with her regarding Adam Lambert's talent and charms. "Adam," remarked Colfer. "Love Adam," injected McHale, "because he's ridiculous. Danny is an amazing singer. I think Chris is a great musician. But Adam is just - he's loud, he's everything. Just to go see his concert would be crazy. He's an amazing, amazing singer." "Adam is like the new Freddie Mercury meets - I don't know: genius," said Ushkowitz.

Lea Michele starred on Broadway in Spring Awakening as Wendla, receiving a 2007 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. She most recently appeared as Eponine in the Hollywood Bowl's Les Miserables in Concert. She also performed in Fiddler On The Roof (Shprintze and Chava), Ragtime (Little Girl) and Les Miserables (Young Cosette). Off Broadway she appeared in Hot and Sweet (Naleen) and Spring Awakening (Wendla). Her regional credits include The Diary of Anne Frank (Anne) at Round House Theater, Ragtime (Little Girl) at Toronto's Ford Center. In workshop productions, she was seen in Samson and Delilah (Delilah), King (Anisette), Spring Awakening (Wendla) and Wuthering Heights (Lucy). Her TV credits include "The Big Ten," "Third Watch," and "Guiding Light."

GLEE is an uplifting series with biting humor that features a soundtrack of hit music from past to present. The show follows an optimistic high school teacher, WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), as he tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing the high school's glee club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential. It's not an easy task when The Pitch-imperfect club includes MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a forceful diva-in-training; ARTY (Kevin McHale), a geeky guitarist; KURT (Chris Colfer), a dramatic soprano; TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), a punk rocker; and self-proclaimed "star" RACHEL (Lea Michele), a perfectionist firecracker.

McKinley's cruel high school caste system prevents the glee club from flourishing, so Will recruits FINN (Cory Monteith), the quarterback with movie star looks, to join the group even though he wants to protect his reputation with his holier-than-thou girlfriend, QUINN (Dianna Agron), and his arrogant teammate, PUCK (Mark Salling). With harsh criticism from everyone, including Will's tough-as-nails wife TERRI (Jessalyn Gilsig) and McKinley's egotistical cheerleading coach SUE SYLVESTER (Jane Lynch), he is determined to prove them all wrong and lead the glee club to the greatest competition of them all: Nationals.

GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Dante di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan and John Peter Kousakis serve as co-executive producers. Murphy directed the pilot.
