GAME OF THRONES Red Carpet Premiere to Be Streamed Live on Facebook

HBO and Facebook are partnering to bring the red carpet Season 4 premiere of Game of Thrones to fans via live stream.

The premiere, being held on March 18 at Lincoln Center in New York City, will be streamed on Facebook Live. Fans can ask questions on the show's Instagram or Facebook pages and have them answered by cast members like Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), among others.

"The fans have made Game of Thrones a global phenomenon, so we wanted to give them an opportunity to be a part of the excitement on red carpet premiere night," Sabrina Caluori, HBO's Vice president of digital and social media tells Mashable. "By partnering with Facebook we're able to reach a huge global fan base beyond the nearly 10 million that are already connected to the Game of Thrones Facebook page."

Following the red carpet, fans will see an exclusive, new trailer of the fourth season. To watch, tune into or beginning at 6 p.m. ET on March 18.

Game of Thrones premieres on HBO April 6.


Based on the popular book series "A Song of Ice and Fire," by George R.R. Martin, the hit Emmy-winning fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom. Click below to watch the second trailer for the new season!

Members of the ensemble cast include Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harington, Natalie Dormer, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner. The executive producers are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield, and co-executive producers are Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.
