Jack Bauer may be back to save the world in a very limited amount of time.

According to Deadline, FOX is considering bringing back its Emmy-winning series, 24, for a limited run next year. Series star Kiefer Sutherland has officially entered early negotiations, though no deals of any kind have been inked.

The report notes that showrunner Howard Gordan would likely return for the series, which would begin an entirely new story arc.

FOX had also attempted to get a big screen version of 24 off the ground, but nothing came of it.

In 2011, Sutherland is starred in the Broadway revival of THAT CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON alongside Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth and Jason Patric. He is best known or playing Jack Bauer in 24 and starring in films such as: The Lost Boys, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, A Few Good Men, Flatliners, Young Guns, The Vanishing, The Three Musketeers, Eye for an Eye, Dark City, A Time To Kill, and The Sentinel. He recently starred on Fox's drama series TOUCH, alongside David Mazouz and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, though it was not picked up for the 2013-2014 season.
