Lincoln Center Theater presents an LCT3 Special Event - Freestyle Love Supreme, the popular live improvised show, will return for an encore engagement at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street). Freestyle Love Supreme will play 4 performances only, May 1st and 2nd at 7pm and 9pm.

Freestyle Love Supreme is a stage show like no other. Five performers, Chris Jackson, Chris "Shockwave" Sullivan, Andrew Bancroft, Arthur Lewis, and Utkarsh Ambudkar, take the crowd on a non-stop hip hop improv ride, spinning cues from the audience into instantaneous riffs and fully realized musical numbers. Freestyle Love Supreme is directed by Thomas Kail, who recently directed the LCT and LCT3 productions of BROKE-OLOGY and WHEN I COME TO DIE, respectively.

Freestyle Love Supreme has performed many times at Joe's Pub, as well as at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Paramount Comedy UK and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Their first ever TV special aired March 8th on Pivot, a brand new television channel (www.pivot.tv). The New York Times calls FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME "Masters in the art of Freestyle rhyme."

LCT3 Special Events were introduced with the opening of the Claire Tow Theater in the summer of 2012 with LCT3's presentation of Young Jean Lee's We're Gonna Die, which returned for an encore engagement the following year, followed by Mr. Joy, the 90-minute one-man show written and performed by Daniel Beaty, and directed by Sheryl Kaller. Most recently, LCT3 welcomed Graham Reynolds: Making Music, who created the music for the LCT3 presentation of STOP HITTING YOURSELF. LCT3 will continue to welcome emerging theater companies, workshop productions in various stages of development, and other special event programming to the Claire Tow Theater.

This spring, in addition to its Special Events, LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of emerging artists and developing new audiences, will produce the New York premiere of THE WHO & THE WHAT, by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior (Saturday, May 31 through Sunday, July 13) also at the Claire Tow Theater. Akhtar recently won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Disgraced, which premiered at LCT3 last season.

Tickets to Freestyle Love Supreme, priced at $20, are available at the Lincoln Center Theater box office, at telecharge.com or by visiting www.lct3.org.
