FOX Broadcasting Reworks Its Programming Team

Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) is combining and reorganizing its development and programming functions, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment. Under the new structure, the following teams will report directly to Chief Operating Officer Joe Earley:

· Comedy Development & Programming: Suzanna Makkos has been elevated to Executive Vice President and will oversee the network's comedy development and series coverage. Lauren Levy Neustadter, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President, and Samata Narra, who has been promoted to Vice President, will serve as Makkos' senior lieutenants.

· Drama Development & Programming: Terence Carter has been elevated to Executive Vice President and will lead the network's drama development and programming initiatives. Carter's key lieutenants will include Charlie Andrews, who has been elevated to Senior Vice President, as well as Senior Vice President James Oh.

The network's Event Series team will continue to be led by Senior Vice President Shana C. Waterman.

Terence Carter was previously Senior Vice President, Drama Development at FOX, where he oversaw the development of network hits, including Sleepy Hollow - the No. 2 new drama of the season with Adults 18-49 - and THE FOLLOWING, as well as J.J. Abrams' Almost Human and RAKE, starring Greg Kinnear. Carter joined FOX from NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios, where he served as Vice President, Drama Programming and developed the critically acclaimed "Parenthood" and "Southland," as well as "Mercy" and "Kings." Prior to NBC, Carter served as a head of Development at Tonic Films, specializing in genre films. While there, he supervised the development of "Borderland" and "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever." He also served as a partner at TruEntertainment, and held positions at Artists Production Group and Artists Management Group. Carter graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in African-American studies and a focus in film and media.

Suzanna Makkos previously served as Senior Vice President, Comedy Development for FOX. In that role, she cultivated live-action and animated comedies, including the 2014 Golden Globe Award winner for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE; Golden Globe Award-nominated hit NEW GIRL; Seth MacFarlane's DADS; and critically acclaimed shows The Mindy Project and BOB'S BURGERS. Prior to her role in development, Makkos served as a current programming executive at the network, covering comedies such as FAMILY GUY, "Arrested Development," "The Bernie Mac Show" and "Malcolm in the Middle," as well as dramas "Prison Break" and "Boston Public." Before joining FOX, Makkos began her career in development and current programming at Walt Disney Television/Touchstone Television and Regency Television. She graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in American history.

Prior to his promotion, Charlie Andrews was Vice President, Drama Development for FOX and developed multiple acclaimed series for the network from pitch to air, including THE FOLLOWING and this season's breakout hit, SLEEPY HOLLOW. Andrews joined FOX from NBC Universal Television Studio, where he served as Director of Comedy Development and developed "Parenthood," "Mercy" and "Up All Night." Prior to joining the Comedy team at NBC, he served as the Director of Drama Programming and Development, overseeing the day-to-day operations for "Friday Night Lights," "House" and "Heroes." Andrews graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor's degree in government and a double minor in Spanish and theology.

Lauren Levy Neustadter previously served as Vice President of Current Programming for FOX, where she helped oversee all aspects of production and served as a primary creative adviser for FOX's diverse slate of new and returning series, including THE FOLLOWING, THE MINDY PROJECT, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and NEW GIRL. Previously, Neustadter served as Vice President, Production for 20th Century FOX and oversaw films, including "This Means War," starring Reese Witherspoon; and "Parental Guidance," starring Billy Crystal and Bette Midler. Prior to joining 20th Century FOX in 2010, Neustadter was Vice President of Offspring Entertainment, where she associate-produced "The Last Song," starring Liam Hemsworth, Greg Kinnear and Miley Cyrus. Before that, she spent four years as a Creative Executive at Miramax Films and worked on a variety of films, including "The Switch," "Last Night," "The Boys Are Back" and "Adventureland." Ms. Neustadter graduated from Loyola Marymount University, where she received a bachelor's degree in theater, and also attended the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

Previously, Samata Narra was Vice President of Comedy Development at FOX and was responsible for helping launch new live-action and animated half-hour comedy series, including Golden Globe Award winner BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, Golden Globe Award-nominated hit NEW GIRL, DADS and THE MINDY PROJECT. Prior to joining FOX, Narra spent over seven years as a literary manager at Fineman Entertainment, where she represented various writers and directors in both television and features. Narra started her career at the William Morris Agency directly under CEO Norman Brokaw and went on to work in their television department. She graduated from Boston University's School of Management where she received her degree in business management and marketing.
