Eloise Mumford, known for her roles on television's LONE STAR and THE RIVER, and appearing in the film adaptation of EL James' racy best-selling novel FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, has just signed on to lead ABC's upcoming pilot WARRIORS, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project "is inspired by the state-of-the-art Walter Reed Military Medical Center and follows the best and brightest of active duty military doctors and nurses as they practice trailblazing medicine on critically wounded warriors returning home from Afghanistan, on military families and veterans as well as administering to Washington's government elite. It is based on an original teleplay by Steven Baigelman."

Mumford will take on the lead role of "Tory Sterling, a psychiatrist who always knows the right thing to say to comfort someone. She's just back from a tour in Afghanistan and is an expert on PTSD -- but she suffers from a mild case herself and just wants to get back to normal with her husband Clay and fellow surgeon, George."

Mumford also recently starred in ABC's RECKLESS pilot, which also featured Naveen Andrews and Stephen Lang. The project ultimately was not ordered to series.
