FACE THE NATION with Bob Schieffer Finishes First in Viewers 8/24
CBS News' Face The Nation posted 3.05m viewers, 0.7/04 in adults 25-54 according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for August 24. Face The Nation was first in viewers and tied for first in adults 25-54 among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
Compared to the same day last year, Face The Nation was up +30% in viewers (from 2.35m) and +17% in adults 25-54 (from 0.6/03).
Television year-to-date, Face The Nation is first in viewers (3.14m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (0.7/04). Compared to last year, Face The Nation is up +2% in viewers (from 3.07m), even in adults 25-54.
The August 24 broadcast of Face The Nation featured a report on that morning's earthquake in Napa Valley, Calif., from CBS affiliate KPIX reporter Juliette Goodrich. Shifting gears to the threat posed by ISIS and the murder of American James Foley, Bob Schieffer hosted a panel of CBS News Senior Security Contributor Mike Morell, CBS News' Homeland Security Correspondent Bob Orr and CBS News' State Department Correspondent Margaret Brennan. Schieffer then interviewed Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and former Vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). During the second half of the show, Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO) appeared to discuss the death of Michael Brown and the current situation in Ferguson, Mo. This week's panel featured David Rohde of Reuters, Susan Page of USA Today, and CBS News' Margaret Brennan.
