Eric Idle, STOMP to Be Featured on 'Olympics Closing Ceremony' CD

Universal Music labels Decca/UMC announced today the digital release of "A Symphony of British Music - Music For The Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games." While the recording is currently available for download, it will soon be released as a two-disc set and will celebrate the music of both contemporary British artists and legendary performers.

Among the artists who will be featured in the collection is Monty Python cast member Eric Idle, performing 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."  The song was featured in SPAMALOT, which debuted on Broadway in 2005 and ran for over 1,500 performances. The show received 14 Tony Award nominations, winning three including Best Musical and Best Director (Mike Nichols), as well as the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Musical.
