Emma Watson Receives 2013 MTV 'Trailblazer' Award at MTV MOVIE AWARDS Tonight

MTV previously announced that British acting sensation Emma Watson will receive the second annual "MTV Trailblazer Award" LIVE during the "2013 MTV Movie Awards" tonight, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Sony Pictures Studios Lot in Culver City, CA. The Trailblazer award honors best in class young actors who are actively carving out their own unique and diverse path in the film industry.

After casting a spell on audiences with her Epic role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series to her most recent critically acclaimed role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower - which garnered her three nominations this year for "Best Female Performance," "Best Kiss" and "Best Musical Moment" - Watson has established herself as one of the most riveting young actors today and is set to continue showcasing her talent in "The Bling Ring" written and directed by Sofia Coppola. In addition, she will star in Darren Aronofsky's highly anticipated release "Noah," re-teaming her with "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" co-star Logan Lerman as well as Russell Crowe.

"Emma Watson endeared herself to fans as one of the most beloved and iconic characters of her generation and did so again this past year as she seamlessly transformed into the role of 'Sam' from yet another modern day classic in The Perks of Being a Wallflower," said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV. The "2013 MTV Movie Awards" will serve as the official kick off to the Summer Blockbuster season with its trademark irreverent celebration of the movies, actors and music that audiences love. Previously announced, rising superstar Rebel Wilson, nominated for "Best Female Performance" and "Breakthrough Performance" as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect, will star as host and be joined by MTV's Inaugural "Comedic Genius Award" recipient Will Ferrell, who is nominated for "Best On-Screen Duo" with Zach Galifianakis for The Campaign.
