EVIL DEAD's Jessica Lucas Joins Paul W.S. Anderson's POMPEII

Following the disgustingly lucrative opening for EVIL DEAD, its breakout star Jessica Lucas has officially signed on for Paul W.S. Anderson's POMPEII, according to Deadline.

Lucas joins Kit Harington (GAME OF THRONES) and Kiefer Sutherland for the big-budget film from Constantin Film. Production kicked off earlier last month in Toronto.

Set in 79 A.D., the film picks up just a few days before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, with Harington playing a young slave aboard a ship. He's forced to rescue his true love, the daugher of his master (Emily Browning) and his best friend, an acclaimed gladiator stuck inside the coliseum when the volcano erupts.

Lucas will take on the role of "the slave/confidante" oF Browning's character 'Flavia.'

The actress currently stars on The CW's CULT, prior to appearing in the network's short-lived remake of MELROSE PLACE. Lucas also starred in 2008's CLOVERFIELD and SHE'S THE MAN.
