ESPN's Stephen A. Smith & FABLIFE Host Joe Zee to Appear on GENERAL HOSPITAL

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith and "FABLife" host Joe Zee, editor-in-chief, Yahoo Style, both longtime "General Hospital" enthusiasts, will make cameo appearances on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1, respectively on ABC.

Smith and Zee also join a long list of esteemed celebrities and self-proclaimed "GH" devotees who've appeared on screen as themselves or in a role created for them, like the late Elizabeth Taylor.

In story Smith portrays an IT expert and mob henchman hired by Sonny. Zee plays himself, a stylist to the stars, who is hired by Nina as guest fashion editor for Port Charles' burgeoning magazine, Crimson.

"I had an absolute blast on 'GH,'" said Smith. "The cast members could not have been more warm and welcoming. I was amazed not only by their talent, but their commitment and hard work. As a fan of the show for 40 years, it was just a thrill. I still have goose bumps."

"When Finola Hughes surprised me on 'FABLife' with the news that I would be making a cameo appearance on 'General Hospital,' I couldn't believe it," said Zee. "As someone who has been a huge fan of the soap since I was 11 years old, it was more than a dream come true. I remember racing home from grade school to watch 'GH' religiously with my grandmother, and we invited the residents of Port Charles into our home every day. The fact that I will be on it now is my ultimate bucket list moment."

"General Hospital" fans will also see the return of both Wally Kurth ("Ned Quartermaine") and Brooklyn Silzer ("Emma") during the week. Kurth was last seen on "General Hospital" on October 19, 2015, and Silzer on January 7, 2016.

"General Hospital" will celebrate its 53rd anniversary on April 1, 2016. It is both the longest-running American soap opera currently in production and the longest-running scripted-television drama currently in production. In 2012, "General Hospital" won the prestigious Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama for a record 11th time. "General Hospital" was created by Frank and Doris Hursley. Frank Valentini is the executive producer. "General Hospital" airs weekdays on the ABC Television Network.
