Docudrama SOAKED IN BLEACH to Be Released 6/11

Today, Vimeo and Emerging Pictures announced the simultaneous North American on-demand and theatrical release of Benjamin Statler's docudrama, Soaked In Bleach, on June 11. Marking the directorial debut of Statler, the film explores the controversy surrounding Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's death.

Available today for pre-order, Soaked In Bleach reveals the events surrounding Cobain's death as seen through the eyes of Tom Grant, the private investigator hired by Courtney Love in 1994 to track down her missing husband (Cobain) only days before his body was found at their Seattle home. Narrated by Grant (played by Lost's Daniel Roebuck), the film develops as a narrative mystery with cinematic recreations, interviews with key experts and witnesses, and the examination of official artifacts from the 1994 case.

Leveraging Emerging Pictures' digital cinema network, Soaked in Bleach will have a theatrical run in select markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Pittsburgh, coinciding with the North American release on Vimeo On Demand starting June 11, 2015. Following the film's exclusive online run on Vimeo, MVD Entertainment Group will release Soaked In Bleach on DVD and across other platforms.

The deal was brokered between Derek Dressler, Vimeo's Director of Content Acquisitions, and VMI Worldwide on behalf of the filmmakers.

Soaked In Bleach will retail on Vimeo On Demand for a $14.99 for download to own.
